Role Definition
This role is designed to support the Company in implementing and sustaining meaningful long term improvements in our manufacturing and support areas with stepped and measured increases month on month.
In addition the successful candidate should have the ability to develop assembly processes and design, procure and install equipment to support these. Successful candidate will then be responsible for training and technical support of these new processes for relevant personnel.

Main roles and responsibilities

Support the development and design of new products from concept to full production with an emphasis on ‘design for assembly’ and ‘design for manufacture’
Design, develop, procure and project manage the installation of new assembly equipment where required
Raise and justify Capital Authorization Requests in line with manufacturing requirements
Conduct risk assessments on new equipment and layouts
Help provide technical solution for well-known production assembly concerns
Lead cross functional teams in the development of current and future state Value Stream Maps
Analyze business results to target specific issues
Identify and priorities improvement opportunities
Develop and manage project plans for implementation of identified opportunities, manage the resources and lead cross functional teams to implement
Engage and involve organization, especially employees, in performing the process
Create operator balance charts, develop and implement standard work
Monitor the process improvements to ensure the gains are sustained
Provide reports, detailed analysis and updates on progress as required
Provide training in Continuous Improvement Tools and coach employees on how to work more efficiently.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position
Experience of controlling a capital budget in excess of £200K
Experience in determining standard work and line balancing
6 Sigma
Proven record of applying lean methodology
Computer literacy including Word, Excel, Power Point ; Visio software will be an advantage
